Mitigation versus Stimulation

Injectivity impairment can occur during matrix and/or fracture injection. Methods are available for preventing or delaying substantial injectivity reduction, before injection actually starts (mitigation). Similarly, there are techniques for remediation, after certain types of injectivity decline have occurred (stimulation).
