PWRI Quarterly Meeting October, 2002 Houston, Texas Minutes |
This meeting had two elements - one element was allocated to describing the ongoing project work and the second element of the meeting was a Workshop. The focus of the Workshop was “Pressure Transient and Other Monitoring Methods for Produced Water Injection.” |
PWRI Quarterly Meeting July 1-2, 2002 Paris, France Minutes |
At this meeting, an overview was provided of the project status and planned future activities. As there were different participants in attendance, some of the background information for Phase 2 was repeated. Difficulties encountered in using the Toolbox were discussed. There was discussion of publication of the results from Phase I of the project. Recent work that some of the Sponsors have been involved with in various localities was also presented. |
PWRI Quarterly Meeting April 22-23, 2002 Rijswijk, The Netherlands Minutes |
At this meeting, an overview was provided of the project status and planned future activities. The individual Tasks for Phase 2 of the project were summarized for those parties not familiar with the specifics. Interest focused on any predictive methods for determining the influence of water quality in high permeability formations. Recent work that involved pressure transient considerations for injectors was also presented. There were presentations from Sponsors on new data. |
PWRI Quarterly Meeting January 15-18, 2002 Stavanger, Norway Minutes |
This meeting focused on Contractors giving a summary of available reports. Summaries of each task by Contractors included technical highlights and field data examples. A breakout session facilitated by Task mentors involved an open discussion and summary of the Best Practices. A Pressure Transient Workshop was also held. |
Steering Committee Meeting October 8-11, 2001 London, England Minutes |
The outcome of the meeting held in London, October 8-11, 2001, can be summarized by the final spreadsheet put together by the sponsors. The word document is available for download. This document summarizes what was done up to the point it was sent out on December 12, 2001. |
PWRI Quarterly Meeting June 25-28, 2001 Houston, Texas Minutes |
The minutes spell out the plan of action for the next several months developed after the Sponsors reviewed the Project Status at this meeting. |
Steering Committee Meeting March 2001 Milan, Italy Minutes |
Highlights included a review of ongoing contractor work, critique of planned activities, summation of results from each Task followed by a Task-by-Task presentation of gaps, future requirements, and recommendations for ongoing work. Also included was a review by Sponsors followed by feedback to the Contractors. The last item included a workshop on the Toolbox. |
Steering Committee Meeting December 2000 Houston, Texas Minutes |
Highlights included introduction of the Toolbox, consolidating available analytical tools, presentation of stimulation data (field data evaluations), presentation of methods for evaluating performance of horizontal wells, and methods for evaluation skin in completions in soft formations. |
Steering Committee Meeting September 2000 Amsterdam Minutes and Workshops |
Some of the items of interest included discussion of lumped modeling (following McCune's methods from Chevron), new stimulation diagnostics, evaluation of soft formation data that had been supplied to the consortium and a discussion of economic models. |
May 29 - 30, 2000 Edinburgh Matrix Injection Workshop |
This workshop concentrated on "The Development of Design Methodologies." The topics discussed included Matrix Injection - A Conventional Approach, Field Experience and How to Monitor Water Quality. |
May 31-June 1, 2000 Edinburgh Damage and Stimulation Workshop |
This workshop also concentrated on "The Development of Design Methodologies - Technology Today." The topics discussed included Damage and Stimulation, Field Experience, The Impact of Surface Facilities on Injectivity Impairment, How is a Successful Stimulation Treatment Defined?, and Economics of Produced Water Re-Injection. Under the category of Technology Tomorrow - the participants pooled their knowledge and experience in order to formulate a final product. |
May 1, 2000 Littleton, Colorado Soft Formations Workshop |
The objective of this short workshop was to focus on the short-term objectives of the Soft Formations Task, particularly in regard to data analysis and to a lesser extent on what should be FUTURE plans for models. |
April 25 - 26, 2000 Littleton, Colorado Layered Formations Workshop |
Some of the objectives were to review entry effects in layered media, during PWRI, due to formation property variation, such as permeability-dependent plugging. Evaluation of the role of layering on fracturing efficiency and propagation and containment concepts were evaluated. |
April 27 - 28, 2000 Littleton, Colorado Monitoring Workshop |
Discussion items included: "How do you prove up containment of fractures and what sort of monitoring techniques do you need?" For the various methods, how successful are they and how do production-centered methods need to be modified for produced water applications - to be certain that there is appropriate interpretation. A key technology is well test interpretation for fractured wells and soft sediments and what is the required methodology? |
February 7-9, 2000 Stavanger Steering Committee Meeting |
Task summaries and technical presentations were essentially given together. The proceedings were summarized on a Task by Task basis. Some of the highlights of the PEA-23 Project were presented. Status and results of the Completions Selection spreadsheet formulated at the Soft Formations Workshop were presented. |
November 21-24, 1999 Edinburgh Soft Formations Workshop |
The first session was on basic geomechanics issues including qualitative methods for identifying soft formations and various situations for "fracturing" and the resulting "fracture structure" were outlined. Also discussed were what parameters should be measured (injection mechanisms), situations where breakdown pressures were high, possible causes of loss of injectivity, fluid movement diagnostics, as well as what completion procedures should be adopted if matrix injection cannot be avoided. |
September 18-22, 1999 Calgary PWRI Sponsors Meeting |
Project management issues were discussed, and some changes to progress reporting were outlined. These changes were designed to facilitate greater involvement of the Task Mentors in project progress and management. The sponsors agreed that the Task Mentors should have a more active role in the project. This document contains the minutes without links to the presentations. A cd containing the minutes - complete with all presentations - were distributed to all participants. |
June 3-4, 1999 Heriot Watt University - Edinburgh PWRI Quarterly Meeting |
Available data was the main issue discussed at this meeting. An open session brought up issues involving compaction, what is the effect of water quality for injection in soft sands? Completion issues, What is Soft Sand? Whether pressure-time-rate behavior might provide some diagnostic clues? Simulations were also presented as well as case field studies. |
March 11-12, 1999 Rijswijk, The Netherlands PWRI Semi-Annual Meeting Download Presentations |
The issues that were discussed were definition of "soft sands, database issues - maintenance, units, date formats, compatibility of data entry with POSC, inclusion of spreadsheets, macros, etc. for data analysis in the "toolbox, use of standard query templates and handling of "Project Technology," and release of data and reports. The presentations shown at this meeting are available for downloading. |
